  • Death of ownership

Growing up my world revolved around Windows XP, CDs, and DVDs. We used to have physical media laying around – media we either purchased or acquired from questionable sources. For creating music or editing photos, my go-to tools were Sony Vegas and Adobe Photoshop, good software back then. Back then, if a family member wanted a copy of a movie, it was a straightforward process of copying the DVD or copying the file after ripping it.

  • The CSAR Encryption Joke

Ah, the joy of the sunny days. While everyone scrambles around figuring out the SPF value they need to keep those sunburns at bay, the European Union is playing another round of ‘Big Brother.’ Last year, the European Commission proposed a new regulation, known as the ‘Regulation to Prevent and Combat Child Sexual Abuse’ or CSAR, for short. The proposed regulation aims to establish a framework within the EU to combat child sexual abuse, both offline and online.

  • We need Open AI not OpenAI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already here, and it’s changing the world as we know it. It’s revolutionizing entire industries and changing the way we live our lives. But let’s not be naive about its destructive effects on our society. First and foremost, AI is going to replace human jobs on a massive scale. With the rise of automation, many industries are already seeing the effects of job displacement. • Check Your Iphone for Pegasus Spyware

Pegasus, a spyware created by an Israeli organization, is the go-to tool for many glowing agencies worldwide. They use it to snoop on unsuspecting individuals. Luckily, Amnesty International has developed a tool that can help us spot signs of this spyware on our iOS or Android devices. I will be using a Macbook M1 with Docker to complete this task. Install Docker and give Docker full disk access. You can give Docker ful disk access by going to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access

  • Youtube-dl vs. Copyright Censorship

The Youtube-dl repository, a popular tool used by many, was suddenly removed from Github a few hours ago. The reason? The greedy cunts from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) requested a ‘DMCA takedown’ claiming that the code in the README was being used to download copyrighted music and videos. They believe this software enables copyright infringement. But let’s be realistic, even if some people do use this software to download copyrighted content, it’s quite audacious for them to try and remove a free software that has already been downloaded and shared by thousands of people.

  • Fiber-To-The-Home on OpenWRT

It took me some hours and some help of a friend, but I finally managed to setup a T-Mobile FTTH 1 Gbps network. So today the T-Mobile install tech came by to install the fiber, media-converter, modem/router and ip tv boxes. I asked the guy what VLAN’s T-Mobile is using, he told me that T-Mobile doesn’t use any VLAN’s.. I didn’t trust that answer, so I did some research. I found that T-Mobile is using VLAN 300 for internet and 640 for IPTV, so obviously that answer was incorrect.

  • Post Image I am in California and Nevada

Just got back from an trip exploring the West Coast of the US 🌴✈️ I visited three cool cities: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. Each place had its own vibe and I had a blast checking out all the cool stuff they had to offer. LA was all about Hollywood glam. I explored Universal Studios, I got to see behind-the-scenes of movies and TV shows. Vegas was great. The lights and the casinos were mind-blowing.
